We all lament commercialism – and yet every year we fall victim to the need to buy more stuff each Christmas.
Is there an alternative to show someone you care?
Of course there is! Buy them an experience rather than stuff!
Things provide only limited happiness. We’ve all waited a long time to buy that one special object, but when it arrives… after a few weeks the novelty wears off and where is it put? In your already cluttered cupboard!
There are at least two good reason possessions don’t provide long term happiness (and probably a lot more).
1) You simply can’t keep up with progress. (Or, if you prefer – the Jones’ next door!)
2) The novelty always wears off – sometimes it might take a few weeks, other times it’s a few hours. But eventually even YOU will get bored of your latest new CD.
Memories on the other hand, last a life time.
Think about it. Do you remember doing things last year? Or do you remember an object? I bet you remember DOING something.
And if memories aren’t enough of a reason for you – think about the planet. How much of the Christmas clutter this year is going into landfill?
Giving an experience (providing you aren’t jetting someone off somewhere using airmiles) could well be the more environmentally friendly Christmas gift this year.

Just wanted to say what terrific fun we had on New Year’s Eve with your Murder mystery ‘Death on the Nile’ It was made
even more fun because the person playing Tommy Blooper went on the web to find Tommy Cooper jokes and added them to
his script. The whole evening was hilarious, Thank you.
I used the 12 character version for a birthday party, and it was a blast! Such a fun theme with familiar fairytale characters – loved it!!
