Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to act?
For most of our games the ability to acting or ad lib is optional! You’ll get given a character, but everything you need to say is clearly written for you in script format to keep things easy. There’s no chance of going wrong or making a mistake. The only time this changes is for our Dinner Theatre and Multi-room scripts which are designed for actors.
How long does a game take?
This will depend on the number of guests, but the average is 2 -3 hours with a three course meal. You can find more specific information on timing here.
Are they suitable for kids?
That will depend on the age of the children. Most of our games are readable by ages 9+ but not all games are suitable for this age range based on content. You can find out more information on this blog about finding the right mystery game for a family.
What’s the difference between virtual and physical games?
The two game packs are identical. Just with one YOU print the files or use them on a screen, and with the other, we deliver the physical box to your door. Both work exactly the same, but if playing online – you’ll find the virtual copy is easier to handle. You get a copy of the digital pack when ordering the boxed set, which allows you to start planning immediately. You can upgrade from the virtual to the hard copy at any point by just emailing us.
Can I get a game for an odd player number?
Yes you can – for most of our games we have the option to “drop a guest” during check out. You can find more details HERE.

What’s the difference between downloadable kits and printed box sets?
The game is IDENTICAL between the two options. Downloadable kits are instantly delivered and are designed to print at home, or use virtually. Box sets offer a no-hassle, ready-to-play experience with a superior finish. Box sets also come with envelopes for the invitations and the inspector booklet is sealed to prevent accidental viewing of the solution.
What’s the average game duration?

Can I play this virtually with remote teams?
Yes! Our virtual games are perfect for remote teams and online gatherings.
