The Fairbreeze Hotel caters for the wealthiest tourists visiting Saint Michelle. It has a reputation which is second to none for service, customer care and comfort.

Boasting a fitness suite, casino, entertainment lounge, indoor spa and a palm-fringed outdoor pool, it is situated in prime real estate close to the beach, pier and other tourist attractions.

This morning, the hotel’s guests were shocked and dismayed to find the outdoor pool contained more than the usual leaves.

Rex Marridges, Saint Michelle’s favourite gym instructor, was found dead, floating face down in the water and there are rumours it wasn’t natural causes.

With the reputation of the island as a safe paradise and holiday resort at stake, it falls to Inspector Beach to apprehend the killer before the night is through.

FAQ's

How long does it take to play a murder mystery game?

How long a murder mystery game takes to play depends on the number of players, the format (virtual or face-to-face), and other factors like eating and drinking consumption.

  • Virtual games: Approximately 10 minutes per suspect (e.g., 1 hour for 6 players, 80 minutes for 8 players). A 20-player game on Zoom can be finished in 2 hours with a faster pace.
  • Face-to-face games: Typically take 2–3½ hours when combined with a meal, but can vary depending on how relaxed the dining is. Adding ad-libbing, general conversation, can extend the duration.
  • Quick large-group games: Custom “suspect/witness” split formats can reduce game time and maintain pace.

On average, dinner party muder mystery games take 2–3½ hours depending on circumstances.

For downloadable kits delivery is instant.  As soon as you clear check out you’ll be able to download your order.

If you order a CUSTOM version of a game – the first kit you will be able to access will be the original order.  This is because we manually sit and adjust the games in the office when they’re ordered, so any customsation requires human input.  This means the customisation will be done as soon as we can do it.  Usually this is within 2 working days and once finished we email it to you.  However we know how people like to plan… so the website delivers the original game immediately and we follow this up manually with an adjusted copy as soon as we’ve finished the work!

We are sensitive to the environment so rather than cutting down thousands of trees and holding stock, we print on demand.

This means printed order requests are handled within 24-48 hours and they’re usually dispatched as soon as they’re printed.

We work a 5 day week in the retail team.  This means orders are shipped Monday through Friday.

Click here for more information about shipping times.

Yes, our games can be played in odd group sizes. We have a few options on how to do this:

  1. One guest can play as the inspector. In this case, a game for 8 players would suit a party of 9, for example. The option for a guest to play the inspector is included in all our Murder Mystery game kits.
  2. Ask us to adjust the game for you. We can make a number of changes to our games to fit your party; in most cases, this is by removing a character. There is a charge for this service, and it can be ordered when buying your game. Just order the size bigger than you need and use the customise game option to choose to remove one character.
  3.  Get creative with your casting; people can share roles, or someone can play two characters.

We hosted this for a few of my coworkers and their spouses in the spring and had a great time. It was easy for guests to come in theme clothing and decorating was a snap. We had a potluck style dinner and refreshments in Tiki mugs. The murder event was good fun and our guests enjoyed themselves. It was a nice way to get to know my coworkers outside of work.

Not as good as the other ones in the library. Some missing clues to the plot. But none the less good fun to keep busy during lockdown.

Fantastic night had by all. The game itself is simple to set up and understand. Great characters. All our friends got into character. I've never laughed so much in ages. Each couple prepared a course so it was not so much for one person to do. I had to change the game from a 6 to 8 player with very short notice. I have been thoroughly impressed with the customer service I recieved plus the game itself. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant – would definitely recommend – Here are my tips / what we did: Send out invitations 4-6 weeks in advance. Decor-ate all rooms to be used and entrance hallway. Ask everyone to help source props to dress the room. As everyone to ask their friends & family to see what nautical items they can borrow – its amazing how much you can get this way. Dress the rooms and table the day before. When hosting such a large party the responsibility of the food is more than enough to worry about on party day. Food: We had Stuffed Mushrooms for starters, Main course Mediterranean Chicken, couscous, Salad, Desert: Pavlova. Choose things you can prepare in advance if you are playing the game too. Drinks: Sangria, wine, Cocktails – we used bottles of already made up ones from supermarket and put in cocktail umbrellas. R-oom decorations: W-e themed an adjoining room “The Flag Bar”. We got hold of lots of flags and draped around the room. We set it up like a bar with all the glasses, drinks, lemons, ice, and anything else associated with the bar. Sylvester was our designated bar man for the evening. Welcome drinks were served in the bar area. Hallwa-y Made a sign and placed at the bottom of the stairs with an arrow saying “Cabins” Mai-n room: Named our restaurant The Rusty Pelican and made a large “restaurant sign” and stuck on a feature mirror. We used royal blue material for tablecloth and scattered poker chips over the table. Silver and crystal creates an expensive look good on royal blue – I borrowed from a neighbour. Bou-ght a fake ship steering wheel on line and hung on a door. Bought a palm tree table decoration. Us-ing lining wallpaper we cut out two huge palm trees which stood floor to ceiling. Used childrens poster paints – brown and green – as cheap. Made pretend portholes with sea views in the middle and stuck on walls. Made pretend red and white life preserver rings and put on walls in dining area, bar and downstairs toilet. Made paper seagulls and hung from ceiling as if in flight. Cut out pictures of cruise boats from newspapers and blue tacked them to the glass of pictures around the room. Our own Captain Birdseye! We used a tailors dummy and put on a table in the corner of the room. We put on him a white roll neck jumper. A friend of mine is ex Navy and lent their jacket and hat. We upturned a pot and secured it to top of dummy and put hat on top. Downloaded a picture of Titanic’s Captain – who looks like Captain Birdseye – enlarged it to A4 size, printed it and attached to the pot. Placed the CD player behind him so when the recording played it seemed like he was speaking – each time it played everyone naturally turned to look at him – it was a real feature to the room and very very funny. Used crime scene tape and put across a door so no one could enter. Above it said “To Swimming Pool” Encour-age characters to develop an accent for their character – its really funny, especially if the wine is flowing. Wel-l I think that’s it. Our night was excellent. We are now planning another and will do a review for that one too. Good luck, plan early and share the preparation!

A great time was had by all when we played Murder on the Med. The characters were hilarious and the game was clear and very simple to use. With minimal preparation we enjoyed a great evening with friends. I can't remember when I last had so much fun!

Customise this game

This game can be customised to fit your event for an additional fee.

It’s hard to give “ball park” figures for what different customisations would cost however we’ve attempted to HERE.

Please do contact us for a free quote if you would like any customisations on your game before purchase.

Remember… if you just need 1 extra person, or 1 less person, why not have someone play the inspector role?

The inspector can usually be male or female as the “for real” inspector can simply invent a new name for themselves.

Some hosts prefer to play the inspector role as it means they can work on the catering while the round plays out amongst their guests.
