Here in the UK – we’re quite familiar with using dinner party games for fundraising. Even some major charities here have grasped the concept and are getting on board with the idea of small scale fundraising being the best way forward.
However, across the pond in the USA the concept of small dinner party fundraising is still largely unknown and so this August we’ve put a recruitment call out to USA based fundraisers to help spread the word. If you run a charity and are based in the USA, read on… this is “hot stuff” and could net your charity over $600 in free support!
During this month we’re offering to support charities based in the USA (sorry – but we’re being specific on USA this time) by offering 10 of our “Come Die with me” packs free of charge to worthy causes.
As you know, we regularly support charities across the world by offering discounted scripts for large group fundraising.
But this month we want to encourage our fundraising customers to think small when it comes to fundraising. Everyone gets so fixated by running big events, but it is possible to raise so much more by thinking small. We cover this concept in our fundraising help email scheme. And we’ve discussed the dinner party fundraising methods in more detail in another blog post.
What is “come die with me” fundraising?
In brief – in its simplest form – is just a series of organized dinner party games. But when the guests attend they’re encouraged to make a donation to the chosen charity for their evening’s entertainment.
It’s not all on the host. Catering can be a joint affair and the host can ask the guests to bring a dish and chip in towards the catering costs.
Organizers may want to present a suggested donation with the invitations for each guest. E.g. $10-$20. Given that an evening’s entertainment at a restaurant will cost anything between $30-$70 each guest is still getting a great night out for a fraction of the cost.
There are a limited number of “murder mystery come die with me” packs available this August and Red Herring Games are providing them on a first come first serve basis.
Why? Well, there are so many worthy causes, we know it would be impossible to pick between them. So the fairest way we can decide how to distribute the packs is “first come first serve”.
This means once they’ve gone, they’ve gone… so if you would like to obtain one of the free fundraising packs for your charity – do contact us now to register an interest.
You never get something for nothing…
Actually – that’s not strictly true as we ARE giving these away. But what we’re hoping is that you’ll be willing to help us a little in return.
As this sort of fundraising is a new concept for the USA, we’re looking for you to provide feedback in the way of reviews, and photos if possible.
If you feel up to it – a short blog post (that’s a newsy article of no more than 500 words if you aren’t tech savy) would be wonderful! Anything to help spread the word.
Registration will remain open until the packs have all been distributed. Each pack will be worth $600 minimum. So unless we’ve placed a “PACKS ALL TAKEN” post on here too – assume we have some left and get your name on the list today!
