Bake Off Themed Murder Mystery

The Great British Baking Shock!

Everyone is excited as they gather for the final of the popular Great British Baking show, but all is not as it seems. On the surface, everything seems as sweet as sugar and as controlled as tempered chocolate. Underneath however, rivalries are bubbling up and about to boil over.

When one of the stars is found with more than just a British stiff upper lip – literally frozen stiff in a freezer – the question is, who killed her? And will there be more fatalities to follow?

How do these games kits work?

This format of game is ideal for novice hosts.

This particular game format requires 7 (or 8) cast who can also participate as “detectives” to if wished, use of 1 large room with stage area, and a few easy to obtain prop clues.

This mystery requires very little rehearsal time, and the cast do not need to learn any lengthy back story. Cast can usually manage to perform the short skits after just 30 minutes to an hour run through on the day, or can act “script in hand” throughout the performance.

Two murders occurs during the event. Usually one happens before the first script (and is announced within that script, and one occurs mid way through the evening.

Your guests will play the role of detectives. You can have any number of detectives, your only limit is the size of your room, and confidence of your cast. Performing for large groups over 100 in number, your cast may benefit from added sound support.

The audience will watch 2 fully acted scenes, witness two murders and will be required to solve the case by bartering and exchanging clues between the teams in order to see as much information about the case as possible.

This style of murder mystery usually works best with 40+ guests.

Introducing the suspects

Frank Views – Judge
Outspoken and critical, Frank’s comments can leave contestants crushed. However, his praise, and above all his firm handshake, are rewards worth waiting for.

Dainty Olden – Judge
Ladylike and refined, Dainty is an elderly and experienced baker who dresses in quite a homely way, enjoys the odd tipple and always tries to find something kind to say about the contestants’ bakes.

Cormac Relief – Presenter
Instantly recognisable as a madcap presenter by his outlandish clothes and bizarre hairstyle, Cormac is known for putting on funny voices and for dreadful puns.

Chelsea Bun – Contestant
Intensely serious, Chelsea is highly skilled and concentrates hard when she is cooking. Neatly presented, with spectacles, hair tied back severely, and a large, practical apron, she is a talent to be reckoned with.

Ginger Bread – Contestant
Ginger wears pretty, trendy clothes and takes great care with her appearance. She seems warm, friendly and a good laugh and she is very popular, both with the other contestants and the viewers, despite her below-average baking skills.

Phil O’Pastry – Contestant
Scatty, rather untidy in appearance and with a workspace that looks as if a bomb has gone off in it, Phil is a loner who can be overemotional. He has a fiery temperament which is somewhat disguised by his soft Irish brogue.

D.C.I. Laura Norder – able to get to the heart of mysteries in what is admittedly an idiosyncratic way, she is always happy to hear others ideas and involves everyone present in solving the crime!

Customise this game

This game can be customised to fit your event for an additional fee.

It’s hard to give “ball park” figures for what different customisations would cost however we’ve attempted to HERE.

Please do contact us for a free quote if you would like any customisations on your game before purchase.

Remember… if you just need 1 extra person, or 1 less person, why not have someone play the inspector role?

The inspector can usually be male or female as the “for real” inspector can simply invent a new name for themselves.

Some hosts prefer to play the inspector role as it means they can work on the catering while the round plays out amongst their guests.
