Bespoke events

We have a “can do” attitude when it comes to bespoke events

We have a team of writers in-house who can research and create a bespoke event just for you.

So if you are looking to really showcase your facilities, include something historic about your venue, add some funny anecdotes from family personalities or work colleagues or generally have a game that’s more tailored to your guests – then we can do it.

If you need an event that runs slightly differently, that doesn’t include meal breaks, or that needs some team building options or a slight change of format to work without tables and as something more free flowing – then again – we can do it.

We realise that not every event slots neatly into “boxes”. This is why we offer a variety of different formats of “off the shelf” events, as well as a tailoring service.

The sorts of things we’ve been asked to do before include:

  • Incorporating a hands-on CSI workshops into a plot for a team building day
  • Bespoke writing a game involving local venue history and setting it within a particular environment
  • Creating an interactive murder mystery game playable on the internet
  • Creating a game that will work as a team building function played as a conference call
  • Writing a game that includes all the characters within the office, their backgrounds and personalities
  • Creating a hen party that includes all the Bride-to-be’s worst bodily habits
  • White labelling events
  • Translating events into other languages
  • Increasing cast sizes to include some guest roles
  • Tailoring a dinner party style team building game to the right ratios of male to female in the workplace
  • Creating a team building event on a tight budget
  • Creating a “launch” murder mystery event for a new DVD release.
  • Creating a 20 minute mini-mystery for a educational awards ceremony.

Cost?

Sometimes we can achieve a bespoke event with minimal cost. All our games are created in-house with a team of authors. We own the copyright and have the technical skills and expertise to pull them apart and create something new without re-writing everything.

Sometimes it’s a case of building something entirely from scratch.

As a result prices do vary considerably from £15 through to nearly £5000.  If you think you need something bespoke – our best suggestion is to call us.  We can chat to you about what you want to do, and we will know if it’s possible to adapt something, or whether we need to build up from scratch.  A quick conversation will give you a ball park figure and an idea of what we can do and how long it will take.

We haven’t yet failed to achieve the objective of a customer and have built some really unusual playing formats over the years.  Also – don’t worry about offending us.  We have included all sorts of plot lines in our custom built games and there’s very little that will shock us these days!

If you need something non-standard – just drop us a line for a free quote and instant support.

Whatever you need – be assured, we can do it!

Flexible and fun!

We contacted Red-Herring-Games for a party for a special occasion. Why going to restaurants to eat is the preferred activity to mark milestones is beyond me and my friends.   The choice of mystery was obvious, looking at the options from New Zealand on the web Red Herring stuck out from the international options.  A quick look at the site and games showed subtlety as well a range of choices.  The numbers you could have for each evening was important,  Red Herring had scaling options a good range of scenarios but most importantly were Jo and team being flexible, responsive and helpful.

Thank you Red Herring Games for the marvellous 'Murder!  Cargo Connections?' event that you organised for us as part of Museums at Night at the Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby. The whole evening went so well and was brilliant fun.  I know from all the feedback that our visitors had a fantastic time. It was really good working with you and I have no doubt that we will do again in the not too distant future.

I would like to thank you and your colleague for helping contribute towards our successful conference last month.  Everyone really seemed to enjoy the evening and it was rewarding that so many delegates were able to participate in addition to the main "Actors".  Our conference evaluation froms included the following comments:
  • "Enjoyed the evening entertainment!"
  • The evening entertainment was great and the confusion made it great fun!"
With thanks and best wishes.

I had no idea what to expect before purchasing a ticket for Old, New, Borrowed, Blue, which was being staged at a nearby hotel, and feared it might involve taking part in some way. However thankfully for me no acting was necessary, just some amateur sleuthing. "Wedding guests" of which I was one, were called upon to move from room to room in the hotel in groups, questioning a number of possible murderers with the aim of solving the mystery of the dead bridegroom. The interviewees were really fun characters and gave us all some good laughs. Of course they all had motives and it was a case of identifying the shiftiest. The wedding theme was particularly good, as it fitted well with the venue, the buffet that was part of the evening (with a wedding cake in the middle) and the fact that everyone had been able to dress up to fit in without going to the trouble of fancy dress. I didn't think I had enough "evidence" to actually accuse anyone but later regretted not even writing down my first guess as it wouldn't have been too far off the mark. The evening was great fun and everyone seemed to enjoy it and take part. I would definitely recommend Old, New, Borrowed, Blue as good for getting even reluctant or first-time mystery party-goers involved.

What a cracking nights entertainment! We don't get out much nowadays with 2 kids and this was exactly what we were looking for in a good night out. Lots of fun with tongue firmly in cheek and everyone kept guessing whodunnit right to the very end. Would definitely attend another!!!!!
