The Curse of the Pharaoh (Clue based - large group) £25.99

Cairo has it all! A modern metropolis, Cairo manages to mix the ancient with the modern in glorious synthesis. It is a city full of life and movement, but also one which is positively steeped in ancient culture ? pyramids, tombs, museums and treasures!

Surely there is nothing more magical than celebrating the New Year in Cairo ? at least ? that was what the West brothers all thought before one of their number was cruelly slain and the ancient curse which adorned the tomb they desecrated 17 years ago reared it?s ugly head.

?Death will come on swift wings to whoever opens this tomb and desecrates the sacred objects contained within.?

After 17 years, the word ?swift? has clearly lost much of it?s meaning, but not so the rest of the curse, which finally looks to be reaching fruition.

The question is: can the murderer be found before the latest addition to the curse comes into effect:

?Before midnight tonight retribution will be sure?.

The Cast:

  • Detective Inspector I. B. Clueless ? The policeman sent to solve the crime
Efficient in his own peculiar way, Ian Buchanan Clueless has an unusual method of solving crimes ? he involves everyone! If anything he is more like a bungling detective than a methodical one, but it has to be said, he does get results.

  • Colonel Stubbs ? Archeologist and family friend
Colonel Stubbs is a well rounded individual, convivial, but serious when the occasion merits it ? as it does tonight! He is the most senior man present, probably 10-15 years older than Duncan West and has grey hair and a distinguished air.

  • Mr Duncan West ? Manager of a chain of Garden Centres.
Tall, rich, arrogant and misogynistic, Duncan is a formidable man in any circumstances. He takes the forthright and direct approach in any situation and has no time for curses, or other flights of fancy.

  • Mrs Gillian West ? Duncan's wife.
Gillian West is demure and submissive, not much to look at, in fact, quite drab next to her powerful husband. Like Duncan she has dressed up for the occasion, but her outfit is very dull and uninspiring.

  • Mr Jonathan West ? Teacher
The youngest and most handsome of all the West brothers, Jonathan is easy going, and a real charmer. With a new baby on the way he is very protective towards his wife and very keen to avoid any implications from the curse. He is quite often seen touching his wife reassuringly.

  • Mrs Yvonne West? Jonathan's wife.
Yvonne is pretty and pregnant ? though not obviously so. She is often seen caressing her stomach and looking down at it in a very maternal way. She and Jonathan have very little money - but she has done her best to find a flattering and stylish dress for the night.

  • Mrs Constance West ? Wife of the deceased.
Constance is a missionary?s wife and therefore almost penniless! Like Yvonne she has tried to dress up for the evening, but her dress is clearly last year?s fashion and poorly fitting ? probably purchased in a charity shop.

Never run a large group mystery before? Then don't panic!

Hosting a Large Group Murder Mystery is time consuming, but with ample preparation and a good cast it is really quite simple and great fun!

In large group games it is impossible to give everyone a part, instead the mystery involves ?cast members? who are fully in the know and act out the mystery, and the guests act as detectives trying to solve the murder.

Large group games come in several different formats, clue based, cast based, multi-room, single room, or a mixture of them all.

This particular game requires 7 cast (who are fully in the know), use of 1 large room with stage area, and some prop clues.

This mystery requires advance preparation, the more notice you have, and the more preparation and effort you put in to running the mystery, the better it will run for your guests.

One murder occurs before the guests arrive and one during the event.

Your guests play the role of detectives. You can have any number of detectives for this mystery, your only limit is the size of your room, and the time you have available.
